Weaving the red thread...

SAMHAIN retreat

29th October - 31st October 2025

Post 9.png

As an intimate group of women, held by myself and co facilitator; Sherin Shefik, we will gather and retreat for the time of Samhain  (pronounced 'sow-wen') in the Celtic calendar.

Samhain is the time of letting go, it is the ending and also the beginning, when we return to the darker months of the year, when the veil between the worlds thins and the nights become longer. It is the time Mother Earth enters her menstruation, during which we will come together to re-member how to truly 'Winter' together.

During our time together I will guide you each to weave a 'Womb wrap', a sacred and ancient textile woven to wear around your womb space to offer warmth, holding, love, support and protection. Woven for a Woman at anytime during her cyclical life. Be that during her menstruating years, or Menopausal years, during pregnancy or after giving birth, a holding to support a miscarriage or abortion. These wraps are supportive for all times of a Woman's life.

We will sit in circle at the looms and weave in the slowness and the softness of craft to our time together. Sharing stories or silently weaving away, we will weave ourselves together through the ritual of crafting.

The passionate and deeply experienced Sherin Shefik will be inviting you to rest into yin/restorative yoga, embodied intuitive movement, and ecstatic dance, working with breath and flow, entrancing music, sublime poetry, and earthy aromas, Sherin will help guide you on your journey home to yourself.

Woven throughout our time together there will be mystical poetry and story telling, Menstrual cycle/ Menopausal awareness,  and time meeting the forest, natural Spring, and land and Beings around Hawkwood.

There will be freshly prepared locally sourced delicious meals, and comfortable accommodation to hold the weight of your queen body as you rest deeply.

It will be a time of returning into our wise, wild and free bodies, allowing the ancient craft of weaving and the intuitive movement of our bodies to guide us home to ourselves and so into deeper relationship with life and death.

If this calls to you, then drop us an email to take up your place.
